TRI-STAKES FAQ’s
-
What is Tri-Stakes, and what makes it different?
Tri-Stakes is a slot-based barrel racing program created for riders, horse owners, and slot owners in our seven-state region. It brings added-money opportunities to participating events throughout the season.
What makes Tri-Stakes different is that one small fee at each event enters an eligible run into three separate sidepots, each with a different split: .3, .75, and 1.0 seconds. That means three opportunities to place and earn a payouts at each sidepot event.
Tri-Stakes also offers flexible substitution options throughout the year, allowing slot owners to change which horses are running in their slot as their needs change.
When an event offers multiple runs, Tri-Stakes uses the best of runs, giving contestants additional flexibility throughout the season.
